ST. LOUIS聽鈥 The sticky heat that blanketed the area Friday and Saturday won't last long.聽
Local forecasters predict several rounds of showers and thunderstorms early Sunday morning through Tuesday, preluding a cold front sweeping through the region next week.
Temperatures will drop to the mid-70s on Monday, with highs reaching no higher than 80 degrees throughout the rest of the week, National Weather Service meteorologist Lydia Jaja said.聽
But that doesn't quite mean the region will transition to consistent fall-like weather from then on out, Jaja said.
"Luckily, it's just not going to feel like July anymore," she said.聽
Rain will be widespread throughout the area. Some spots could see after the showers start around 4 a.m. Sunday.
