A Ladue woman drove along her brother's daily bicycle route and struck him with her car over a financial dispute, prosecutors say.
Valerian P. Mills was charged this week with second-degree assault for the attack last year on her brother.
Kirk Mills was struck Nov. 8 while riding his bike on Clayton Road when his sister struck him with her vehicle, police said. He suffered a concussion, internal bleeding and multiple lacerations, Ladue police Officer Ashlyn Becszlko said in court documents.
The brother rode the same route nearly daily and his sister knew that, police said.
Before being struck by the car, the brother had texted Valerian Mills to tell her she was cut off financially from the family, Becszlko said. She would lose $40,0000 monthly, Becszlko said.
On Thursday, 50¶È»ÒÊÓƵ County Associate Circuit Judge Krista Peyton issued a summons in the case, ordering Valerian Mills to show up for a Nov. 26 court hearing in Clayton. She lives in the first block of Dromara Road in Ladue. Valerian Mills, 51, did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
